Giving Warmth and Hope to Children
When is a coat more than a coat?
To children in our local communities, getting a new coat for wintertime doesn’t just keep them warm; when it comes from the kindness of others, it also gives comfort and hope.
Helping families in need is the mission behind The Salvation Army; and with 91 cents of every dollar going directly to services, every donation makes a big difference.
That’s especially true around the holidays. For families struggling to get by, the extra costs of heating and winter clothes can make for tough choices. That’s why The Salvation Army’s “Coats for the Children” drive comes at a perfect time.
This army for good works year round and at Christmastime is often the only “Santa” for families in need. This year, more children than ever before were registered in Wake County for the Christmas Cheer Program, to receive assistance with toys, stockings and clothes.
We’re proud to partner once again with the Wake County chapter of The Salvation Army to help local families in need. On Friday, December 12, 2014 Touchstone Essentials’ Founder and CEO Eddie Stone was live on air at WRAL TV to present a donation of $2,000 toward this worthy cause. This makes a total of $12,000 donated by Touchstone Essentials to the Coats for Children program in the past couple of years.
According to Eddie, “We are very grateful and thankful to our Members for making this possible. Our Members share our vision of giving hope and a helping hand to those who need it most.”
Touchstone Essentials’ mission is to touch lives with goodness, and we’re committed to cultivating the next generation by focusing on the well-being of families. Each year, Touchstone Essentials donates to organizations rooted in local communities, with a global reach, just like The Salvation Army. They shine a light where there is none, and restore hope in the hearts of those needing help. That’s the good inside.
What can you do? Every product you buy, or every time you share Touchstone Essentials with others adds to the goodness. To learn more about The Salvation Army or to make a donation directly to the cause, visit their website.
Everyone deserves the good inside.
